Visconti’s contemporary creation will pay tribute to ancient history and the Twelve Tribes of Israel. The sacred Torah traces the Israelites to ‘Jacob’, grandson of ‘Abraham’. Jacob, who was once later renamed ’Israel’ after a mysterious incident by which he wrestles with an angel or ‘God’, had twelve sons who was the ancestors of twelve tribes, every occupying a separate territory within the holy land of Israel. The Visconti 12 Tribes pen is enriched with Biblical symbols and historical that means. Unique signs and pictures attributed to every of the tribes are engraved into the pen via a scrimshaw process and different color enamels. The body of the pen is Made out of ancient 925 silver and includes a raised engraving of an olive tree branch, symbol of peace and prosperity. The body has a novel rotating system that shows every tribe symbol because the barrel is turned: ‘Reouvene, Shimone, Levy, Yehouda, Yissakhar, Zevouloune, Dan, Naphthali, Gad, Asher, Yossef, Binyamine’. The pen has many more hidden surprises: The clip is modeled after the hand of the Torah. The five fingers are ceaselessly regarded as to represent the five books of the Torah.
