Description
Visconti produces Restricted editions with themes that affect, change or describe our lives – its new collection is devoted to the religions of the arena. The primary within the series makes a speciality of the Bible, probably the most read and published book on the planet, and the religions linked to it – Christianity and Judaism. The huge pens are hand-turned from ivory-colored resins and the use of a scrimshaw methodology, drypoint engraved and full of India ink. Intricate drawings depict scenes from the Old Testament on the barrel: Adam & Eve, Noah’s Ark, David & Goliath and the Ten Commandments. The Jewish version is meant to have a classical, ancient glance in natural, unadorned ivory – the cap represents a non secular moment of prayer on the Wailing Wall. Hidden within the blind cap is an engraving of a Temple. The Christian version is painted in refined colours thru a troublesome methodology never before used on a pen. Its cap options the tale of Jesus: his Birth, Baptism, the Last Supper and his Ascent into Heaven. A picture of the Holy Grail is hidden within the blind cap. Both pens have a decagonal crown and finish cap, the latter engraved with the Ten Commandments in Hebrew. The fountain pen is fitted with Visconti’s two-tone, 18K gold nib and includes a power piston-filler. Restricted to 999 fountain pens and 199 rollerballs world wide. Pen Size: 6 x 2 1/4
