In commemoration of Sailor Pen’s 100th anniversary, they have released the limited edition Shima Kuwa Mulberry Fountain Pen. The Shima Kuwa is hand made from premier grade Mulberry wooden from Mikurajima, a small island within the Izu archipelago which is legendary for this very rare and precious natural subject material. Shima Kuwa Mulberry wooden is continuously utilized in Japan for special gifts. A distinct design “anchor” clip has been commissioned for this pen – a logo that may be very special to Sailor. The wonderful thing about the Mulberry wooden grain is achieved the use of Fuki Urushi a deep burnishing process the use of Urushi lacquers from the famous Jouhou Temple.
