The sumptuous fountain pens and roller balls are apt representations of each the village itself and the air of mystery that surrounds it.

It’s fitting, then, that the illustration of the development be each a device an artist would possibly use – a pen – and an objet d’art embellished with visual representations of St Moritz itself. To embellish the barrels, Montegrappa’s designers have chosen three historic posters to illustrate the scope of St Moritz’s sights, every symbol hand-painted by artist Lorena Straffi. The pens are formed from celluloid, a pricey subject material produced from cotton fibre mixed with natural pigments and mother-of-pearl, and are additional embellished with either sterling silver or 18K gold.
