Description
The Restricted Edtion 4810 – valuable black with intricate silver designs Ludovico Sforza, who used to be given the sobriquet “il Moro” (the moor) because of his strangely darkish complexion, cast alliances with Naples, Venice and France to verify the protection of Milan and his own energy. His mythical black armour is symbolised at the Restricted Edition 4810 through the gleaming black lacquer with 925 sterling silver inlays. To honour this suave diplomat and intriguer, who used to be overthrown through the French King Louis XII after forming an alliance in opposition to France in 1499, the “testone” – a coin of the Italian Renaissance – used to be minted. Its unique embossments are immortalised at the cap ring. The 750 rhodium plated forged gold nib of the edition is engraved with the Duke’s coat of arms, a last acknowledgement to a long-lasting cultural legacy. Ludovico Sforza grew up underneath the influence of his humanist trainer, Francesco Filelfo, who taught him the theories of Plato and Aristotle and stimulated his love for literature and painting. As duke, he supported humanist training at the College of Milan and commissioned the growth of the Renaissance Castello Sforzesco. The spectacular structure of the castle impressed the engraving at the cone and the design of the cap best of the Restricted Edition – complemented through the Montblanc brand in valuable white resin.
